Mutya East Coast USA Wins Best in Figure Competition

On August 13, 2010, 24 candidates competed in the Mutya ng Pilipinas “Best In Figure” Swimsuit competition. Held along the beach in front of hundreds of attendees at the Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa in Puerto Princesa, contestants sported custom white two-piece bikinis from internationally renowned Filipina fashion designer, Charina Sarte.

Judges: Mr. David Poley – General Manager of Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa, Mr. Red Constantino – Greenpeace and Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, Mr. Leandro Enriquez – Founder of Mutya ng Pilipinas Inc., Ms. Helen Camacho – VP of Slimmers World International of the Philippines and Thailand, Mr. Roberto de Venecia – President of Mutya ng Pilipinas Inc. and Ms. Tati Fortuna – Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant Committee Chair and Managing Director of ScribbleWorks Productions Inc., had the arduous task of selecting a winner based upon the following criteria: fit body (30%), proportions (30%), confidence (20%) and overall impact (20%).

The five contestants (Suzette Hernandez – Mutya Batangas, Sharon Grace Angel – Mutya Lapu-Lapu Cebu City, Cindy Madduma – Mutya Puerto Princesa, Barbara Salvador – Mutya Pangasinan and Christi Lynn “Ashley” McGarry – Mutya East Coast USA) with the best scores were chosen, before Ashley McGarry was declared the winner.
